Here he is.

Oreo's first trip to the groomer was successful.  She said he was very good for the first time.  Other than not liking the clippers around his face (she had to use scissors) he was no trouble at all.  So here are the before and after.

Before.  Yes, he got quite shaggy.  We  were not familar with how to handle a Shih Tzu but are learning.

After.  He looks more the puppy we first got, lol.

We had thunderstorms like a lot of you did last night.  He did not like that.

Not much else going on here.  Like everywhere, the weather is crazy.  Warm then cold.  It just can't seem to make up it's mind.  Makes you wonder if the whole year is going to be tht crazy.

You all have a good day.

It's happening.

After many years of digging out from under debt from his divorce, my youngest son and his new girl friend are moving into their own place this weekend.  She really is nice and we like her.  I do hope and pray their relationship turns out to be everything they want.  He's always going back to finish his college education, a few courses at a time like Danielle is doing with hers.  I wish him all the best in that endeavor too.  I had to laugh at Danielle as she said she drove them nuts with her history knowledge, wait till they get Jared.  LOL!  It's his favorite subject.

I'm glad for them and looking forward to our alone time again, but will miss him and girls coming each weekend.  Now to redo the room and get my sewing machine and stuff up there and out of the dining room.  Then there really will be no excuse for me not to get some sewing done.  Have project I've been waiting to do and sluffing off because I don't like having to pack it away all the time in order to use the table etc.

Now the latest Oreo report.  Thought for a bit he would be starting to sleep with us.  He finally realized he could jump high enough to get on our bed.  We kind of expected him to jump up in the middle of the night but he stayed in his own bed all night.  We're just wondering how long that will last.

Well I guess that about sums up the news from here.

You all have a safe and nice weekend.

Same ol', same ol'.

Not much has been going on around here since my last post.  Have been doing some reading as I said.  In the winter it seems like one day just runs into another without any thing difference at times.  I think it has been like that other than the horrible cold spell we've been having.

Had my annual checkup with one doctor and nothing new.  All seems to been normal and will seem him again next year.  It seems like everytime I go he is a little different.  Sometimes kid of in his own little world and other intune with the patient.  That was one of these times.  More hands on and talkative.  First time I can remember him ever telling me to call if I ever had any questions we didn't cover.  I wonder if the new law has that effect on them, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yes Davis, Oreo has been quite entertaining.  He loves playing 'keep away' and for some reason has this thing about picking up stones or leaves when taken outside.  We're always having to check his mouth when we bring him in.  He has this thing where he starts runnning like a mad man back and forth.  Potty training doing real good.  Monday he will get his first hair cut.  Right now he looks more like a sheep dog than a Shih tzu the way it falls over his face.

Leave it to me to mess something up.  Have an ipad and promptly forgot the pass word I put in.  I wrote it down, I thought, but everything I tried won't work.  Since I'm so techy illiterate Danielle is going to come help me straighten things out and reset.  I'm fair on these things once everthing is set up, but a bit chicken-hearted when something goes wrong with the fear I'll only make things worse.  I was hoping having it would make it easier than always carting along the laptop.  Silly me.

My poor husband is even worse than me.  First he had such a hard time getting his Windows 8 set up, finally connecting with the right person and is in business that way.  Then aol kept telling him he was either using the wrong password or email that he has been using for 6 months. Now FB is telling him the same and/or there is no account in that name.  Now he shows up on fb when I and friends search for him.  I don't know what the deal is with that.

I'm not to happy with them either.  I have some pictures of his Mom to put in the family goup thing and have tried 4 time to put up that album or single pictures and noting.  Grrrrr.

Well I guess that about covers the Wed. rant and I wasn't even thinking about ranting, lol.

Well since I've been so lazy getting on here and checking on you all, I had better get at it.

Have a good day and keep warm whereever you are.

Hugs!

Reading Time

It seems I don't have much.  I was hoping winter would give me more time to read with all the books and kindle books I have.  You know, staying in and out of the cold.  Cozying up on the couch with a good story and being transported into another world.  This winter has been busy and with the addition of the holidays and the family events (both sad and happy) have only had a short spurts of reading.  I really hope things will calm down for awhile and I can plow through a few books.

Beth, what is the name of your favorite author again?  I was going to look for some of his books to download and lost the paper I wrote it on.

There is also so many others things I should and could be doing.  Sewing, learning more about my new phone and iPad, and al always, the dreadful cleaning that never ends.  Jack got me a new phone for my birthday and it's much too smart.  Smarter than me for sure.  Fortunately Danielle is close and helpful, as is sister Jodi who has one just like it.  She went and took the seminar they had when she got hers, so she should be able to "show me the ropes" as they say.

Well Jack just left for horsehoes so maybe I can get a few chapters in before he gets back.

You all have a great day.

Hugs

Oh the Fun....

and laughter, and yelling at the tv.  The belated Christmas party could only have been better if everyone could have been there.  We ate, had a little libations, teased and joked, and reminisced.  Sherry was snapping pictures and were others.  They will all be on fb I'm sure.  I'm afraid to look.  The game was great.  The cheers with every score was deafening. (sp)  The little kids were a delight.  It was just wonderful.  The teen girls were a bit bored though.  Nicole, Alyssa and Carson walked home to babysit Oreo so he didn't have to stay in the crate for a long time.

I went to Sherry's and Jack went to his dinner.  He said it was good but he knew I wouldn't have ate much as I don't care for cheesy potatoes.  I know, I'm from WI, a cheeshead and all, but not a big cheese eater.  I was going to take pictures too, but wouldn't you know it, didn't know the battery was dead until it was too late to charge it. Grrr!  Really have to keep a check on these things.  Not being too familiar with my new phone I opted to just keep it in my pocket.

Today will be a day of R & R.  Will probably watch the other games to check out the competition we may face.  I think we can take them.  LOL

You all have a nice relaxing Sunday.

Just stuff

Well here we are into the 3rd day of the new year.  Had to take Oreo for his next round of shots yesterday and he did wonderful.  Not a whimper out of him.  Of course that deserved a nice treat when we came home.

Have you ever looked forward to and kind of dreaded something at the same time?  Everyone here where always wishing we could have the old family get-togethers at Christmas like we used when Mom and Dad were here.  Of course you can never go back, but we are going to try to come close.  Sat. all who can are gathering at Sherry's.  I know it will be fun to be together but I also know it will be so cramped.  The little ones will hopefully have fun with limited room to play.  The noise level should be out of sight.  The Packer game is on and trying to watch that will be tough.  I doubt Jack will go.  He hates watching the games in a crowd and we only do it once a year at the Moose for a Packer/Bear game.  Not to mention he has a dinner at the horsehoe club.  I guess I'm looking at it a little on the negative side and hopefully will be pleasantly surprised.  The date was already set, but with everything that went on this last couple of weeks, I was looking forward to a few weekends of just doing nothing.   I have to find a small grab bag gift from local mom & pop type stores or not participate.  Haven't decided on that yet.  What I wanted to do I can't as the place is closed for the next couple of months.  I was going to see what the Angel Museum had but that is not to be.  We are to bring a snack to pass.  They are getting a bunch of chicken so that will be good.

Well have to get off and go to Shopko.
You all have a great day.

I'm Back...

and glad this year is over.  Sorry about the lack of posting, but it's been a little busy and rough here.  I posted about my mother-in-law and her stroke just before her birthday.  It looked like she was going to be okay, but that was not to be.  Of course the hospital couldn't keep her indefinitely for therapy and she needed daily care that even as close as we are were unable to provide.  She was transferred to a nursing home close by for couple of days and then to a better one as soon as a bed opened up.  Well she didn't like it and wasn't going to get better so she wanted to go home until the end, so home she was brought.  As we were all together for Christmas eve she went to heaven.   Sadly her last brother had passed just a couple of weeks before.  We laid her to rest Sat. She was a wonderful little lady and will really be missed.

If that wasn't enough, almost all of battled that flu that was going around and are just getting back in shape.  My sisters little grandson had a real tough bought with numerous trips to the ER. but is doing okay now.

Hopefully things are all on the upswing for the start of the new year.  I will be working harder on keeping up with my blogging.

You all have a Happy New Year.  May it be peaceful and healthy for all.

Love you all.
