The shovel that is. My mother-in-law informed her daughter about the missing shovel. It seems that the daughters husband knew just exactly who the guy was that plows the driveway and called him immediately. He says it was an accident, that he didn't mean to take it. Just tossed it in the truck when done. Okay, we'll let it go this time. It does sound possible and we believe in 'the benefit of the doubt'.
Hubby went out a bought himself a new snowblower. He has a little one they use to call a 'snow pup' and it's good for small light snows, but hard to use on the heavy stuff. Now he's happy with his 'new toy' and plans on doing his mothers driveway himself along with the sidewalks. I think he just needed an excuse to justify buying one ;-). My sisters Sherry and Rhonda said they hope it just sits in the garage for the rest of the year, lol. Even that it would rust from lack of use. Imagine, denying a man the pleasure of using his purchase. Bad sisters.
I am so looking forward to spring. This cold and snow is wearing it's welcome very thin. Beth keeps a countdown and she says only 59 more days. YES!

About all the cold and snow? I have to agree with you 100%; spring just isn't getting here fast enough to suit me.

I am glad the shovel is coming back. It is really quite possible that the whole thing was an accident. My brothers do a lot of helpful things at my place which require using equipment and they have in the past both taken my tools and left their own, and it always gets straightened out - although usually not until I have had a crucial need for the missing item. My trouble is I get inspired once a decade to do something, and if ANY requirement is missing, there goes that until 2021.
ReplyDeleteThere's no one happier than a man with a new toy. Jim did the same thing last year(or was it the year before?), getting a big one, because the small one just couldn't handle it anymore. Now when he fires it up, he does the whole block.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to visualize spring with all that cold and white stuff out there. Glad we have the Packers as a diversion this year.
I will never forget that in 2005 I bought Jim a huge snowblower for his birthday. Not much snow that winter and he didn't get to use it. Sadly the next winter he was gone. I am glad your husband bought himself the toy and I hope he lives many many years to use it.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about the winter wearing thin. It's been simply cold and icy with nothing new in the snow department really. This too shall pass! We've had a snow blower for some time though it's not a big one really. It's not had all that much use since before December around here...you can't snow blow cold but I sure wish you could!
