Out with the Old and In with the New...

...Year that is of course.  With the exception of all the shenanigans going on politically, both local and nationally, I think it hasn't been a bad year.  Though sil is still looking for a job as are so very many in this land and they lost their home that is the downside.  They moved next door and we're loving that. The son whose hand was punctured in the cnc machine has complete and full recovery of it.  Danielle got her Bachelors Degree.  Aaron got his exceptance to Plateville that he wanted.  We all seem to be healthy.  The grandkids are all doing wonderful in school.  Sisters families and hubby's families all seem to be doing well too.   There is always blessings along with troubles.  They are what you count.  Let the troubles make you stronger and fade away and take the blessings and forge ahead.

Our prayer and hope for the coming year is that Jim finally conquers the Leukemia and he and Mary get to come home.  They have been there 7 months and I know they so miss their home and family.  She has such a positive attitude and faith, as does Jim, that I just know God will see fit to give them their dream.

Hoping and praying your New Year is a wonderful one.  Full of love and blessings for you and yours.
GOD BLESS!

May you feel the joy of another New Year
Bonding your family and friends together
In a circle of love, peace and happiness

Yahoo!

Doctor visit was a really good one.  Now you know I see 2.  My general one every six months, and the one they sent me to because of the stoke of my optic nerve.  Well I told you of my 10 lb. loss from the time I saw the one 6 mos. ago.  I had forgot I had been down 5 then.  Well yesterday the screen had the weight from the second dr. and are you ready.  Totally I'm down 15 lbs. for the whole year.  I'm so happy and yes, I plan to keep on working for more.  I have been pleasantly surprised by both drs. as they both told me to enjoy the holidays and not worry about the weight too much.  I would so like to be down another 15 next year.

So guess what I got for my birthday ?  Two boxes of Chocolate Covered Cherries.  LOL   Yes, good news from the drs. and help with the 'enjoy the holidays' advice.  Fortunately I'll get help with those.   Jack and Carson will surely help.

No snow here yet but have had icy roads the last two mornings.  Snow predicted but not too much here at the bottom of the state.  Maybe an inch they say.  That's enough for me.  Hopefully it gets better as the day goes on.  I would like to take the things left here from Christmas to those who left it. Just don't want to travel icy roads.

Day before yesterday hubby took the sub for an oil change.  Well that was the most expensive oil change in history I think.  They found the water pump leaking and all totally it was $585.  Hubby said this may be a sign we may have to trade it in.  When all warranties are gone and it starts to need things it gets tough.  It's just that it has been so nice without a car payment for over a year you hate to do it.  Oh well, that's the joys of owning things I guess.

Well you all have a nice day.  Keep safe and God Bless!

It's Not Fair!

No one should have to have doctor's appointment on their birthday.  It's just not right.  I'll definitely remember to be sure never to okay that again.  At least it's the last one for this year.  Hope I didn't gain to much over Christmas.  Having that 10 lb. loss when at the Dr. last week was so nice I tried to be good to make sure it stayed that way for this one.  This is the Dr. who wanted that much gone, so keep your fingers crossed.

What's the plans you have for New Years Eve?  My kids plan on staying home this year (at least as far as I know now).  We're going to the Moose of course, for the dinner they have every year.  Don't plan on staying long after.  They are having entertainment so will see.  Still are going to be home early before all the crazies start leaving the bars.

With each New Year comes hope.
This year make every day count
by taking one step each day
on a  journey of kindness
Love and compassion
towards your fellow man.
Look back at the close of day
and know you made a difference.

A wonderful weekend!

The weather has been wonderful.  Danielle came bouncing in the door in a tank top and pj pants exclaiming how she loved a green Christmas.  I think her exact words were "This is the best Christmas ever."  I'm thinking she's not fond of snow and ice.  LOL  Well neither am I, but it just didn't seem right all that 40+ degree weather and no snow.  But hey, I can live with it.  :-)

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with the family.  More food that we could all eat, a few drinks ;-).  Really!  Well maybe a couple people had an extra one or two, but really, no one really went overboard.  Everyone was happy with their gifts and the euchre game was a success.  We never got over to Sherry's I'm sad to say.  We didn't really get to the gifts before 5 and with all the fun and visiting suddenly the time was gone.

I got a nice cover for my kindle and gift card for it along with a gift card for Kohl's (love that store) and one for the Crackle Barrel. That made Nicole's face light up. She just loves that place so I'm thinking that look was a prayer that Grandma will take her when she goes.  Grandma probably will.  I can't look at the card without seeing that look, lol.

Cousin Mary and Jim had wonderful visits with their kids at Zion as Jim can't come home yet.  He has been in and out of the hospital, but on a good note, he was allowed to be with Mary this weekend.  That is a good sign.

To top it all off, the Packers won again.

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend and your all resting up.

May the coming New Year
Bring you good luck, good health
And happiness knocking at your door.

Happy Dance!

Doctors' visit was a good one.  Results of all blood test were really good, check-up good and the best of all-----10 lbs lighter.  She said keep up the good work but don't let it get in the way of enjoying the holidays.

We put up the curtains and trashed the old ones.  Then we went through our old VHS tapes and took most of them and put them in a big plastic container out of the way.  This made room for the dvd's in their place.  Found some we had forgotten all about.  The 50th Wedding Anniversary of my Mom and Dad, plays Danielle was in, and one that says Aaron so we're going to check them out.  There is also some with no labels to check and see what they are.

Now to get the place in shape for the big day Sat.  Have the Italian beef all ready and meatballs and sauce all set to heat up.  Just have to make the pies and since I like them fresh for the day will do those first thing Sat. morning.  Kids will all be bringing dishes to pass so it will, as usual, be more food that we can possibly eat. LOL

Wishing you love and happiness
At this holy time of year.
A time for caring and sharing
With ones you hold dear.

Merry Christmas and God Bless!

The Mood Returned.

Well I did do the cookies today.  Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chunk and Sugar Cookies.  Now I have to frost the Sugar ones.  The kids want to help so I'll keep them tightly contained till Fri.

Have a Doctors appointment tomorrow.  Regular checkup and keeping fingers crossed all continues as well as it has been.  You know how it is as you get older.  Don't feel any different and no aches and pains, so hopefully all stays the same.  Have one more next Thursday with the one who put me on the Plavix.  He never seems to find anything and just says come back in a year.  Hope that continues too.

I can't believe what I did today.  I went to the store and bought new curtains and rods.  These old ones have been here forever and getting pretty worn.  Well I picked out what I wanted and when I got home realized they were not the same color.  In the store light they looked so similar so had to run back and exchange a couple.  I really think it's awful that they charge by the panel now instead of pairing them.  Anything to take more of your money.

Been kind of drizzly here today but not bad out.  37 when I went to the store and noticed the gas actually dropped to $2.99.  Been quite some time since it went below $3.  Wonder how long that will last.

You all have a good night.

Tuesday trouble

Was getting things ready to make some cookies.  When getting the pans the shelf in the cupboard feel apart.  Those little pegs they use to hold up the shelves are not the best things.  This is the fourth time they have given out.  Well Jack has had enough.  He brought in two sticks and drilled them right into where the pegs go.  Solid now.  Hope that's the end.  Trouble is.  I'm no longer in the mood.  May have to force myself, but it's not looking good.  I have my shopping done, cards sent, tree up and still don't feel the Christmac spirit.  Don't know why.  Maybe it's because there is no snow but I really don't want that either.

May your holiday be filled
With good friends and family.
May the sound of laughter echo
Into the New Year.

Wonderful Day!

Danielle receiving her Bachelors degree Cum Laude!

What a great day yesterday.  We went to the granduations ceremonies at Concordia College to seek our wonderful daughter in one of her great achievements.  If your on fb, there are more pictures and Darla is now putting up the videos she took.  It was a long but wonderful day.  We stopped for supper and the Quaker Quick and Lube and that too was marvelous.  Mike's parents rode with us and they really enjoyed the day.   Her friends threw a surprise get-together for her at the little bar up the street.  Music, dancing, family and friends helping her celebrate.  She was having a great time when we left.

Todays plans are watching the Packer game, of course, and then to Darla and Jims for a little Christmas get together with their kids.  It is getting so hard for all the kids to visit with all the relatives on Christmas and Christmas Eve.  You know as each adds a spouse there are other relatives to consider.

Well must go find something for breakfast.  Late start today.

I'm so disgusted...

...with people.  Your filming a concert or something and they have absolutely no decency to stay out of the way.  They walk right in front, some even stand there, and can't even say excuse me.  The program last night was wonderful.  It was divided into three groups, 6th grade, 7&8th grades, and Chamber Choir.  Needless to say, Nicole being in the 8th grade, it was the only one where people had no respect for people taking pictures or filming.  I actually had to say "hey" to get one to move and the man behind me told someone "people are trying to get pictures here", before more came trotting down.  Some were even little thier little kids run up and down the steps.  It seems like everytime I try to get a film of one of the kids people have done this.  It's ruined almost every performance I've filmed.

Well now that I've go that off my chest I have to say the concert was wonderful.
The kids did a great job.  There were some regular Christmas songs, novelty songs, etc. You can see the really like and respect their teacher through their performance.  I know he's a good one as I worked with him when at school.  The kids all loved him and were sad when he moved up to the middle/high school level.  The previous teacher up there was not very good and the kids were dropping choir faster than a hot potato.  The choir is growing again now that he's there.

Will try to get some parts up but not thrilled with having to go through YouTube.  I don't do YouTube.

Best laid plans.

You know how they go.  Well ours went.  Didn't get the chance to go shopping yesterday, so planned for today.  Nope, not a chance.  Danielle's car isn't done yet so ours is off to school with her.  It's a good thing our plans aren't carved in stone, and being retired, we don't have go anywhere on a schedule most of the time.

Went to Carson's concert last night and that was interesting.  The music was great, when they could finally get it going.  Was surprised that the band, orchestra and choir was all done at the same time.  Where I use to work the band concert was on a separate night of the choirs.  Anyway, as they switched from one to the other there was too much confusion as who was to go where.  Then the kids kept talking and it took the teachers at little time to get them quiet.  Then the cd player music backup wouldn't work properly and  they had to stop and start a few times. The didn't use the band or orchestra as it would have drowned out the choir considering how close together everything was.   Finally they gave up and went on without it.  Took Nicole with us and she was shocked at the way things went.   They must come in quietly and in an orderly fashion.  She said her director would have a fit, lol.  Funny how different schools do things.  We'll see tonight.   Hopefully I can get a good video, but not sure if I can put it up.  Sometimes they don't want you too.  You always have parents that get upset at such things, so will see if there is any request not to.

Well since we won't be going shopping today either, may we can make some cookies.
You all have a good day.

On Christmas Day,
May you find the child within you.
Make it a magican time.

Tuesday doings.

What to do today?  What ever running I have to do had better be done today as it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow even though the temp is going to be mid 40's.  So we're going to finish that last present buying and I have a prescription that has to be filled.  I have to have them fax the doc as I only have one left and don't see him until the 29th.

Carson's concert is tonight and I have the video camera all charged up and ready to go.  Taking Nicole with us then will ask if Carson wants to go to Nicole's tomorrow night.  I think the kids get a charge out of seeing how other schools do things.  The only thing is it's easier to take Nicole than Carson.  She just lives next door and can hop right in the car.  We have to go into town to get Carson and take her back, but hey, it's only gas and a little time.

Enjoy your day.

Some Progress

Have all the groceries needed for now and through the holidays (I hope).  Now to just finish the last of the present shopping and I'm all set.

My daughter-in-law, her twin sister and her mother, along with the help of their kids spent the weekend making 20 different cookies.  This is their 9th year of doing this I believe.  They put up the pictures on fb and oh do all those cookies look good.  Gained 5lbs just viewing them.

Went and had the (vampires as Jack calls them) take my blood for my 2 doctors visits I have this month.  Hopefully it will be the only ones for another year.  Still will have the eye doc visit to do, but that is usually in Feb.  Think I will need new glasses this time.  With the exception of reading book and staring at this screen, I see better without them.  I noticed gas station signs, road signs etc are all clearer if I take them off.  So is televison.  I mean when you have to take them off to read the questions on Jeopardy it's time for a change.

You all have a good rest of the day.

May every path we tread this Christmas time lead us to peace.

I love this!

A Wisconsin Merry Christmas to you all!

I don't know who came up with this but I thought it was cute.  I hope they make Christmas Cards like that.  I'm sure they would be a big seller up here. May have to make it my heading picture.  Watching the game at this time and they are starting out with a bang.  Hope it keeps up.

I heard there was a lovely lady who is having a birthday today.  Happy Birthday Admiral!

I saw those shiney floors of Carole's and had to shade my eyes.  I wonder if she makes house calls. Hmmmm!

Nothing else going on here, but then there usually isn't on Packer Sunday.  So I'll let you all get back to whatever it is your doing.

Have a good afternoon.

Decorations

So love seeing everyone's pictures of their decorations and those in the stores.  I just love decorations anyway.  One of the best things about Chistmas is all the lovely colors, lights and ornaments.  I would love to buy so many but, of course, that's not practical.  I didn't notice after having all (I thought) I am missing my little snowmen.  Three little guys I used to sit in front of my computer.  I don't remember even seeing the box when getting out all the other decorations.  Now that is going to bother me until the tree is taken down and put away so I can see if they're still there.

I did come across some I never use and one that has never been opened.  Donated them to the Moose for raffles to benefit the kids parties.    We were there when they went and I had to laugh.  One fellow said this was his wife's present for the year.  Now it was cute, but I think he had better rethink that, lol.  Seems like we cut back on decorating every year.  I suppose everyone does sooner or later.  You accumulate so much until it gets to be overwhelming to put it all out.  Like I've said before, Jack even wants to downsize the tree, and a number of friends and relatives have done just that this year.  I suppose I'll give in sooner or later.  Trying for the later, ;-).

Have a good day.
Merry Christmas.

Gettin' there!

Making progress on the Christmas shopping.  Only 3 left to get. Wrapped all those I've got.  Hope to be done be the weekend.  Then I can concentrate on the groceries for both everyday and for the family get-together.

Time to get the video camera charged up for the annual school concerts.  At least I think there will be more than one.  I know of the one for Nicole but not sure of Carson's school.  Never had one there when Alyssa went, but then she wouldn't have been in choir as she didn't care for it.  Guess I better hit their web site and see if there is one.  Nicole's is Wednesday so had better get crackin'.

Pretty quiet around here.  Not much going on.  Didn't make any points with granddaughter when we put up the tree.  She wanted to help.  But hey,  had to take advantage of when Jack was in the mood to get it down.

Going to start reading "The Help" as soon as I get all this holiday planning under control.  I hear it's a good one and want to devote as much time as possible to it.

Have a good day.
Merry Christmas to you.

Finally!

He did it.  Yup, he went and brought in the tree and decorations.  I didn't nag at all, but it was hard.

My Angels are standing watch over us.
I also have 5 on the tree along with the Angel on top too.

Now my list from the previous post is complete.  Guess it's time to make a new list.

No snow here yet and I hope it holds off until I finish my shopping.  Want to get it done this week.  5 left and the ones I have are wrapped.  Now that the tree is up I can put them under there.

That's about it for here.  Hope your having a good day.

Sunday plans

First of all.  Yeah Badgers.  Now get to work and plug up those mistakes and tighten up the defense.  Oregon is tough they don't take anybody lightly.  And.......
GO PACKERS!

Now on to today.  Breakfast at the Moose as it's the 1st Sunday of the Month.

Hopefully I can finally talk Scrooge into getting the tree and decorations down.

Pizza for lunch or supper, who knows.

Watching, rooting and praying for a Packer win.

Finishing "The Valcourt Heiress" by Catherine Coulter.  It's taking me forever as life gets in the way.

I think that's enough for today.  Tomorrow I must get my act in gear and get organized for the yearly family gathering.  Plan my grocery list and get all the good stuff.  We usually have a "potluck" type of affair on Christmas Eve.  Years ago we would all gather at one house (Mom & Dad's) until that got too small and then at Sherry's.  Eventually that too got quite crowded.  As with life, changes were made and we all got together with our respective families as they grew also.  This year Sherry would like another group thing, which would be fun.  She suggested about 5 or 6, but I doubt we can do it that soon. Just won't be able to get there that early.   Most of the kids come in the afternoon and the rest wander in periodically.  By 5 or 6 almost all are here and the presents can be attacked.  Finally as the grandkids say.  Then some have to trot off to other family gatherings and the rest of us sit and talk and play games. Usually have a family Euchre challenge, lol.   Jim has to work until 3 so he and Darla won't even get here much before 4:30.  Adam sometimes doesn't get here before 7 and not sure about Steph.  She may have to work too.  Will be checking on that.    Jake and Nicole and the boys have a number of places they stop at and I can't remember when they get here.  Since they have the smallest kids, we wait to open presents until they come.  We will get there sometime, just not sure when.

So far so good.  Have my annual checkup in 2 1/2 weeks and have been working on the weight loss thing like a good girl for a change.  So far have lost just what I was told to.  Now for a few lbs. more and really make the doc happy.  Now if I can just slap my hands away from all the holiday goodies and I can keep it up even after.

Friday, December 2, 2011

Yeah, it's Friday!

Well that picture will have to do.  Still can't find the one I want so took Beth's advice and did the google thing.

Paring down list of  Christmas presents I still have to get.  It's the adults and older grandchildren that are giving me the hardest time.  You say, money or gift cards?  More than likely. Now if I can get "Scrooge" to bring in the tree I'll be more in the spirit.  I'm thinking some granddaughters persuasion may just be in order.
Have to use all weapons at my disposal.  hee hee

Daughters car went to pot.  Nice timing right.  She needs a new engine.  A new car would be nice, but lack of funds and only one working kind of puts the damper on that.  So the engine is the least expensive.  Her wonderful sister has put the money she needs into an account for her.  Jack is trying to get his blazer running decently incase she needs it in the mean time.  It has hiccups quite often.  He's thinking fuel pump and that is in the gas tank on it.  Fun huh?   Seems like everything always needs to be done at the same time.

Yearly doctors appts. this month so will be going to what Jack calls "the bloodsuchers" for labs next week and then wait and see what the doctors say about them.  Hopefully all will continue to be okay.

Best get going and see what else I can accomplish today.  Hope your day is a good one.

A start

Finally changed the background.  Now to find the picture I want for the blog and I'll be all set.

You know those annoying calls we get, even when on the 'Do Not Call" lists.  Well I check the caller ID for the numbers.  Got quite a surprise the other day.  The ID actually said "Phone Scam".  I have never seen that before.  I mentioned it to my son and he said somebody at his work was telling them the same thing.  He wasn't sure he believed it then.  Now he does.  Even if it doesn't come up that way I never answer a number I don't know.  My only problem is, sometimes it says "no data" and I worry about it being Jack's mom.  I guess I shouldn't because she always leaves a message if there's no answer.

Picked up a few more presents yesterday.  One was for an Angel Tree at the Moose.  I'm sure you have them in your area.  Trees with little angels on them for a boy or girl and the age.  Then the Salvation Army takes and distributes them.  Still have to get one for a little girl, but thought I would take one of the granddaughters with me to pick something out.  They would be a better judge than me.  The angel I have is for a 10 yr. old.  Carson should be able to help me with that.

No snow here yet.  Getting it north of here.  It can stay away for awhile as far as I'm concerned.  But then Mother Nature never has paid attention to what I want, lol.

Well, off to see if I can find the right picture.

Well Darn.

Hopefully this will work.  The picture showed up when I viewed it.  Hopefully it shows up now.  Just sending the picture itself.

Hopefully the language doesn't offend too much, but it is funny. If nothing else you can start the day with a laugh.

I am having trouble getting into the spirit of Christmas.  At least in the shopping area.  I think if we would just get the tree up and decorations it would help, but I live with scrooge.  He won't get the stuff from the garage (all too big and heavy for me) until Dec. 10.  I just wish I had the room in the house to store it all, then I could drag it out.

Cold here and I think it's now going to stay that way.  Guess there is suppose to be snow Sat.  I'm not looking forward to that.

Have a good day.

Monday, November 28, 2011

Not sure if this is really true, but funny.

Sorry about the language at the end.  No way for fix it or it would spoil the whole thing. A friend sent it to me and even though she was told it was true we wonder.

Carnation Milk

A little old lady from Wisconsin had worked in and around her family dairy farms since she was old enough to walk, with hours of hard work and little compensation.

When canned Carnation Milk became available in grocery stores in the 1940s, she read an advertisement offering $5,000 for the best slogan.

The producers wanted a rhyme beginning With 'Carnation Milk is best of all. '

She thought to herself, I know everything there is to know about milk and dairy farms.

I can do this!

She sent in her entry, and several weeks later, a black car pulled up in front of her house.

A large man got out, knocked on her door and said, "Ma'am,.....The president of Carnation milk absolutely LOVED your entry.....So much, in fact, that we are here to award you $1,000 even though we will not be able to use it for our advertisements!"

He did, however, have one printed up to hang on his office wall.

True story!!!

Sunday, Sunday.

I haven't quite figured out what to do with today.  No football games.  Packers and Badgers have already played and WON.  I guess I could watch the Bears and hope they lose, lol.  Hey, I'm a Packer fan and rooting for them is real difficult.

Poor Nicole has to take the bus to school now.  Danielle's car is on the fritz so Mike either has to take or she has to use the truck.  She usually takes her to school as it's on her way but she has to leave earlier now.  Poor baby.  She has to get up and out about 15 minutes earlier.

Have finally done some Christmas shopping.  Have the great-grandkids done, and Nicole, Danielle, Mike, Austin and Sandy.  Jack gave Aaron a rifle for hunting so I guess that is his Christmas present.  Now for the rest of them.  Giving money to Jake and his wife.  They need new tires so what little we can give will sure help them.  So that leaves Steph, Jack, Jacky (I know I still call him that), Jared, Carson Alyssa and Allie.  Should be a snap right.  LOL  I think the tree will go up Saturday.  Jack is still trying to talk me into a table top tree, but I like my big tree and not quite ready to give in yet.

Well off to find out what to do with today.

You all have a good one.

The Quiet.....

...is over.  The hunters are back and without any success.  Jack saw a few but had no shot and I guess no one else saw anything.  It's so nice to have them home all safe and sound.  The minor downside---the tv had been off from 9:30 last Fri. till about 9:30 Wed. morning during the day.  No longer.  I don't think it's been off at all since, with the exception of sleep and not being home, lol.  Funny how one can fill the time without it and others, not so much.

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Darla, Jim and Jared yesterday.  Watch the Packers win and a marvelous dinner.  So much so, that we naturally overdid it.  Couldn't even manage a piece of pie after.  Split it in half and brought it home.  Was really late before I could even think about it.

Anyone do the Black Friday shopping thing?  I just don't see the real need.  Guess I'm just not the standing forever, waiting in line, pushing each other type.  There is nothing out there in the stores that is worth all that hassle to me.  I think also that if you use a credit card for purchases it diminishes the size of the savings you get if you end up paying interest for any length of time.  As few people can pay the whole balance each month you lose some of the advantage.

Have a good day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for all the wonderful people I have met here in blogland.  You all have brought such joy and fun to my online experience.  I'm praying you all have a wonderful day.

I'm thankful for all my family and friends, both close and far.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!

I am exhausted.

Darla picked me up and we went shopping at 9:30 this morning.  I have only been home for about a half hour. We went from store to store and found a few things for Christmas then for a late lunch.  I haven't been on my feet that long since I retired.  Poor things are just smokin'.  It wasn't raining when we left but by the time we headed for home it was.  Not a hard one though, just a nice little one.

You remember I've been going through closets looking for a scrapbook.  Well I went through some old purses, and lo and behold, found a book or two.  As I hardly ever go anywhere without one I was surprised to find the unread material still there.  Always have on in the glove compartment and usually one in my purse (when I carry one).  Now brings me to last night.  We went to the funeral and after they had a luncheon for the family and friends at the Moose.  When we left I drove Sherry home and realized I didn't have my purse.  A quick call assured me it was still there and I had to go retrieve it.  Well, they all laughed of course, and asked how a woman could forget such a thing.  I informed them that as I hardly ever carry it there I wasn't used to grabbing it when I leave.  I'm certainly glad that that was where I left it.  Could hav been disasterous elsewhere.

I think maybe I will take a late nap.  You all have a good evening.

May you all have a wonderful Thankgiving!

Manic Monday

Been out and about already.  Ran to the grocery store and picked up all the things I need to make pies for Thanksgiving.  7 a.m. is the perfect time to go.  Hardly a soul there.  Bedding to wash and a little load  I didn't do the other day, and probably numerous things I forgot about.   Then the funeral this afternoon.

Now does she look like a dedicated deer hunter?
I will be interested to see if she will want to do it again.

We came out of the visitation last night and across the street were some deer in an empty lot,  just lolling around knowing they are perfectly safe in the middle of town.  Then Darla almost hit one on her way home as it darted right across the highway in front of her.  I think the guys are hunting in the wrong place, hee hee. I don't even know if they seen any.  They never call so always have to wait and see if they come home with one.  Though, I'm sure if Carson got one Jared would put it up, but she would have to pick up the gun first, lol.

Well I guess I had better get with and onto the rest of the laundry.  You all have a great day.

It's so quiet.

Though it's nice for little bit, it will be nice when they get back.  Like the peace and quiet temporarily but always miss the people.  We joke about bugging each other but sure happy we have them to have fun with.

Got some hints for Christmas present and may head out to get some today or at least sometime before they get back.

A dear friend passed the other day.  She was the mother of my cousins wife.  A great little lady of 84.  Just a tiny bit of a thing and full of fun.  They found her gone sitting at her kitchen table.  She was just about to go to her daughters in Florida for the winter.  We had just seen her a week ago yesterday at the Moose for dinner.  She was her usual chipper self.  It was quite a shock to say the least.

Well I wonder what Carson is thinking about her first day deer hunting.  She was all excited to go but somehow I don't think she will want to next year.  I must say, she is willing to give things a try.  It's just that she has such sensitive personality.

Have a good day.

They're gone.

The hunters have head for the north woods.  Would you believe without even a good-bye.  Yup, they did.  They were waiting for son and grandson and when they got here they made sure everything was packed (double-checked), climbed in and off they went.  I was doing up breakfast dishes and came out to see if son had shown up and say good-bye to them.  No one was there.  So a text to the hubby that said "WELL GOOD-BYE!  Shortly a sheepish phone call with an I'm Sorry.  Got all caught up in the readiness.

Now to decide what NOT to do first, lol.  There's cleaning and laundry, sorting and tossing, organizing and other stuff like that.  Wait, there's also shopping and wrapping, blogging and fb, reading and tv, sewing and scrapbooking.  Now those sound like much more fun and interesting.  Ah the choices.  I know you know just which group will get the most attention ;-).

Have a good day.

Finished....

"Water for Elephants" that is. It was very good and yes I would recommend it.  Especially if the circus every interested you.  It backtracks some and I thought that would bother me, as I don't usually care for that in a book.  But it makes sense as you read it and the story wouldn't quite be the same without it.  Quite the insight into the lives of circus people and what really went on in some of them.

Well the guys are gathering up all their stuff to leave for the "Big Hunt".  I sure hope they've got everything as I'm not delivering forgotten items.  No, not a meanie, just wouldn't know where the heck I'd have to take it.  LOL

Hopefully I can get some of the things done that I've put off too long.  Then again I could just enjoy a lot of reading.  After all, I have all those books I downloaded to my kindle and a few paperbacks I haven't read yet.   Hmmmmm!  Decision, decisions.  Guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. :-)

Have good rest of the day.

What?

Where the heck did Tuesday go?  It was just Monday for the crying out loud.   Must have been that book.  I started reading 'Water for Elephants' and just realized I'm already half way through it.  So if you don't see me tomorrow either it's probably because I'm doing the other half.  Have running to do today with the hubby to get him ready for his hunting trip.

Also had to go have cake and ice cream for my mother-in-laws 89 birthday.  Dolly still is doing well for her age.  She's gets around with very little help with the exception of transportation to and fro.  Jack checks on her twice a day waiting on her for breakfast and dinner.  She loves that being spoiled.  She has one granddaughter that will be staying with her for a little while who is trying to find her own place.  She does use a walker when out and about.  Happy Birthday Dolly!

Jack made a batch of cookies yesterday.  Cinnamon Roll cookies that we saw online.  Well they are good, and gone.  Well, 1 left.  Darla insisted we save her one.  Sheesh.  They were on a Betty Crocker website.

Wishing a good day for you all.

Monday Musings

Well I must say, the beef tips and noodles dinner at the Moose was the first time I have been disappointed in a meal.  The beef could have been cooked longer as it took some time to chew it.  The noodles were not soft but thick and chewy.

I wonder sometimes about those in charge of our state.  I'm talking about the Concealed Carry Law that was enacted here, making WI the 49th state to allow such.  Now I don't really understand the need, but as hunters explained if they have a coat over their gun while hunting you would be in violation of the law so this will prevent that.  Okay I guess.  I know they have tried before to get the law passed and then Gov. Doyle vetoed it saying if you want to carry a gun just strap it to your hip and carry it as we have open carry here.  Well with the change the NRA (who has been pushing for it) got their way.  Okay again.  But, the Attorney General (who is of the same group) added a 4 hour training session in order to get a permit.  Makes perfect sense to anyone, wouldn't you think?   Well legislature with backing by the NRA, in it's infinite wisdom, put on the pressure and the legislature had that dropped.  Now my problem with the whole thing is the police have to have 40 hours of gun training, but any yahoo can buy a gun, get a permit without any safety training at all.  Yes, some are turned down but not for that reason.  It just doesn't make any sense to me.  Guess I'm just stupid.

Guess this was a downer post.  Sorry about that.  Just had to get if off my chest.  I feel better now.

School Plays

We went to the High School Play last night.  They put on Les Miseriables and those kids did a marvelous job.  The voices were beautiful and strong.  I had never seen it performed professionally, but doubt they could have done it much better.  Was a little surprised that a high school did the play, considering the language and some content, but it was done well.  The costuming was wonderful.   All in all, a job well done.

Tonight it's a beef tips and noodles dinner at the Moose for the benefit of the troops.  Bring such things as batteries, snack, stationary, pens dvd's, books, tolietries etc. to be boxed and sent and you get the meal for a lower price.  They do this yearly, collecting and sending boxes to the troops over seas.  Thanksgiving they are bringing the homeless vets in for Thanksgiving Dinner.  Rides will be provided as well.  There is an old nursing home in the area that has a specific area fixed up just for them.

Monday night is the Packer game of course.  The dreaded Minnesota Vikings are coming to Lambeau Field and want to spoil the undefeated season.  Now I know and believe that being undefeated is very difficult, and doubt that they will do it all season.  But I sure hope it's not the Vikings that end it.  Our Badgers also have to deal with Minnesota in the Paul Bunyan Axe game.  You know, it's one of those rivalery games where an object is passed back and forth to the winner. Well, we've had it for a few years and I'm sure Minnesota would like to hold it for awhile.  Sorry fellas.  We plan to keep it.

That about sums up my weekend.  Started busy and looks like it's going to stay that way.  Hope yours is a good.  Take Care.

Wondering

Why is it that you never thing of what you should have said until hours after you should have said it?  You know hubby went hunting with his buddy last week.  Well when they got home the decided we would all meet for breakfast.  We no sooner got seated when the wife asked "guys were gone all week, why didn't your call me?"   Now dumb me, instead of saying the phones lines run both ways, said I just enjoyed the alone time.  Why do people try to put all communication on someone else.  It's not like the woman is shy.  In fact she's very outgoing and verbal.  Sheesh!

Why is it so hard for some people to buy clothes?  Are there more of their sized than anything else?  Due do long arms, (he calls them his monkey arms, lol) my husband wears a large tall.  The arms are longer and he also likes the extra length of the shirt itself.  Today we went to get some levi's for him, a new coat for me and a couple shirts for him.  Not 1 shirt in his size in the whole store.  Tons and tons of 1x, 2x, 3x & 4x in the flannel that he likes.   REALLY?  Expecially since this was the store that he always found them in.

Just rambling on.

The semi and finals on DWTS will be with people worth watching.  I think it will come down to Ricki and J.R. with him winning.  He is just so smooth and dances so well.

It's raining and they say there may be some of the nasty 's' stuff.  They're getting it already north of here.  Possibly up to 8 inches in norther WI.  It can hold off here until Dec. 24 as far as I'm concerned.  Melting on the 26th would be good too, lol.  Can you tell I'm not a fan of winter.

Sitting here racking the brain for what to make for dinner.  Hate planning meals.  The kitchen is not my favorite room in the house.  Good thing hubby likes to cook or we might starve, lol.

Sitting here looking around my computer area I think it's time for a good organizational purge.  It's beginning to look more like a garbage dump.  I'm sure there is much that can be tossed.  Why do we let things pile up?

Well I guess that's enough jabbering on and on.  You all have a good day.  Hope the weather is good at your place.

Smile, it makes people wonder what your up to.

Aha!

No, not the scrapbook.  Still can't find it.  It's about my new laptop.  I think I have figured out why hubby bought me one.  Possible guilt.  He went and bought himself a new bow and release (story about that in a min.) and seems the cost is a secret.  That was over a month ago and I still have no clue. As we both have our own separate credit cards we don't always pay attention to what the other buys.  Don't get me wrong, I know he wouldn't do anything to break us, I just think he's enjoying being funny for a little bit.  I know if I really asked he'd tell me.

Now about the release.  He lost it.  Can you believe it.  He says it was an expensive (top of the line) lesson learned and had to go get a replacement yesterday.  Glad it was the bow too.  He said he laid it on the ground when putting things away and forgot to pick it up.  They went back and looked for it, but there were ATV tracks around so someone got a nice release for their bow.

Well I watched DWTS and they got the scores right as far as I'm concerned.  Now if the audience gets it right we will be without Nancy Grace for the semi-finals.  She tries but she just doesn't have it.

Tonight my fav.  NCIS

Have a good day.

Not a winner!

The trip to the casino was not a successful one.  Though, that I came back only $30 down could be considered a success.  No one on the bus won.  They have really tightened up those machines.  They best part was the meal they give you.  The food is so good and you get all you can eat.  Not a bad trip for $10.  Bus ride, lunch and hopefully you don't go broke.

Stopped at a little bar on the way back and the proprieter served us 'pudding shots'.  Now I think you have heard of  'jello shots'.  Well she makes hers with pudding.  Not one for doing shots but had to try them.  Boy were they good.  She had strawberry, orange and chocolate flavors.  I saw her writing down the recipe for some of those with us.  Oh Oh!

Yahoo!  Hubby just walked in the door.  I didn't expect them so soon, but they forgot to change their clocks back.  Lol   I'm sure quite a few have forgot.  Hate that.  I wish they would just leave it alone.  I mean there are some areas where they don't do it and they seem to be doing okay.

I had something I was going to write about and now, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was.  Guess it couldn't be too important.  So, as long as the brain has gone into hibernation mode I will say,
Have a great day.

No Luck!

I don't know what he did with that scrapbook, but I can't find it.  It wasn't in the black holes, so who knows where it is.

This morning I took a jacket I found in the black hole to the school I use to work at.  As it had the school staff Logo on it, I thought maybe someone could use it.  Well on the way there was this truck stalled at the stop sign so all had to go around.  Well on the way back I could see flashing red and blue lights and traffic backed all the to the next road in one lane.  Had to go all around through town as the next road has a bridge that is being redone so traffic can't go that way either.  Well when I finally got back to where that road turns off the highway it was still backed up as far as you could see.  Took me 30 minutes to go around.

Not fair.  When I went into that closet and started pulling things our I counted 17, yes17, coats for Jack.  How many for me?  5.   Now does that seem fair to you?  There's Nascar jackets, hunting jackets, winter jackets, leather jackets, dress coats.  Really!  I have 1 dress coat (old by the way) 2 winter coats, 2 light jackets.  I had coats piled on every piece of living room furniture.  I think someone needs to load up and go the goodwill.  Sheesh!

Carole, about Emmitt.  He was beginning to feel the effects of his age and when they lost the house, the new landlord doesn't allow pets, so they decided now was the time to have him peacefully put to sleep.  I know they were not happy about it, but both the dog and cat were in the twilight of their years and they were glad they didn't have to suffer.

Now off to find some kind of trouble to get into.

Got it!

Went back to the store early this morning a got that little box of macaroni for my sister.  It's suppose to rain and maybe more today, so I went real early. Now I can concentrate on the last black hole.  Sure hope I can say 'got it' again later.

When I came home and started to unload the car (yes I got more stuff) I lifted the back and carried two bags in.  Came back out and there was this beautiful slate gray cat sittibg there next to the bags staring at me.  Quickly I shut the house door so it couldn't get in there, and shooed it away.  It is my nephew's cat CeeCee and it's always trying to get in somewhere.

I was shocked when I switched over to the end and saw who was going home on DWTS.  REALLY!  David has improved much faster than Nancy.  They way the voting has been going I worry about R.J.  and Ricki.

Have been downloading free books on my Kindle just about every day.  Have an alert that comes up of fb for the free ones of the day and usually find at least 1 that sounds interesting.

I had this craving for a sundae and when I went to the store yesterday all those fixings were in that $57 worth of stuff I bought.  Well I had it last night and craving is satisfied.  Now what to do with all the stuff.  If it stays in the freezer I know I'll cave.  That's not good.  But.................!

Well, off to that black hole.  You all have a good day.

Not lost

I haven't been swallowed up by the black holes yet.  But haven't found the scrapbook either.  Still looking though.  Hope for success.

Well someone else goes home on DWTS tonight.  I really think it should be Nancy Grace.  She gives it her best, and has a great attitude, but she still looks lost out there.  It was a nice calm night.  No blowup with Maks and Len.  Though Maks did get a little testy rehearsing the group dance.  I thought it was telling that when he left ,Derek took over and she seemed to have no trouble.  I don't watch on Tuesday until at the end to see who goes.  NCIS is my priority, and NCIS Los Angeles has grown on me.

Boy, you wouldn't think one person being gone would make such a difference in a day would you.  It's so quiet here with Jack up north.  I guess it must be that the tv isn't on all the time.

Took a trip to the store and naturally, $57 later,  I forgot the only thing I went for.  Here I thought Jack was the problem with that, lol.  Guess I have to admit I'm just as bad. Hate doing that. teehee

Hope your day went well and the rest of it is even better.

Darn, darn, double darn!

The Halloween party was a no go.  Hubby came home from his plumbing job at the Moose and was not feeling good.  Then he started coughing all day and was impossible for him to do the makeup I needed with a coughing spell, so we didn't go.  He was in bed by 6.  Costume and accessories all bagged up with the hopes of next year.  Danielle went to the party at the little bar up here and was home by 9.  She said we didn't miss anything.   Sadly though, I heard the one at the Moose was a really good one.

He just left for up north with a friend who has land and a trailer up there.  They will be hunting and tree cutting (fallen trees from a storm) this week.  What will I do with all this free time?  I'm sure I can find a way to fill it.

My grandson Aaron received his letter of confirmation for U. W. Platteville.  He is real happy about that.  That is the one he wanted.

Have been searching for an old scrapbook of when Jack and Darla were clowning.  Haven't been able to find it in all the usual places. I fear I'm going to have to dive into the blackholes (affectionately called the closets) into some boxes that are way in the back.  Darla had been talking about it at work and one of the ladies was interested in seeing it.  Now I think we really need to find it so it can be put into the safer type scrapbooks they have today.  Wish me luck.  If you don't hear from me for a few days, get on fb and tell my kids I'm trapped.

Have a good day.

Party Saturday

I know.  It seems like we party a lot here.  Halloween parties abound tonight, as they probably are elsewhere.  Jack doesn't care for dressing up so he's says he's going as a biker so he doesn't have too.  The ole poop, lol.   I'm going to be a Geisha type lady.  Jack is going to try and make up my face. That ought to be a silly site to see.

I have one very happy granddaughter.  Nicole got a cell phone for her birthday and her mother said she was outside squealing and jumping in joy.  Knowing her parents, there will definitely be rules to follow.  No locking them out like one parent I talked to one time.  That would be the quickest way for her to lose it.

I bet Beth is happy her Cardinals won the World Series.  I feel for the Rangers.  They are a good team.  I'm glad for the players on both teams.  They both deserved good things.

Now a subject that's a bit icky.  You would think by now everyone would know there are certain things you don't  flush down a toliet.  Last night we went to the Moose for supper and it is their busiest night of the week.  Well the administrator (and cook) ask Jack to check the bathrooms as the weren't flushing without trouble.  Fortunately there are two in the basement for use but it's difficult for some people to go down there, even with the chair lift.  Well he has to go up their this morning and take them apart as he says there is something plugging them.

Well now that I've yucked up your day I'll say "Have a good day".

Chicken Pot Pie.

Well it was delicious and of course it didn't last long.  It's a quick and easy make.

CHICKEN POT PIE

1 (10 oz.) can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup or Campbell's Chicken or Turkey Pot Pie soup.
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed.  (can use canned veggies instead)
1 1/2 cups cubed, cooked chicken. (Jodi used rotisserie chicken from the store)
3/4 cup chicken broth combined with 3 tablespoons of flour.
2 Pillsbury pie shells.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix soup, vegetables, (may use fresh veggies too), chicken, and broth.  (The mixture should be somewhat thick.)  If only chicken noodle soupp is available, it may be pureed in the blender tomake a smooth gravy.

Put mixture into the bottom pie shell.  Cover with the top pie crust and crimp to seal.  Slice a few vent holes in the top.

Bake for 40 minutes or until golden.  Cover pie edge with aluminum foil or a pie shield if it begins to brown too quickly.

Hope you all enjoy it if you try it.

Happy to my beautiful granddaughter Nicole.  She has grown into such a beautiful and wonderful young lady.  My how the time flies.  Seems like just yesterday she was a baby in my arms.

You all have a great day.

Wednesday already!

Time sure flies.  Schools around here will be having conferences for the next couple days, so if the weather is good the neighborhood shouldn't be too quiet.

Well Chaz finally went home.  He was on there way too long.  I would like to see Nancy Grace go next, but I think it will be Maks and Hope.  I think he upset not only the judges, but the audience when he said it was his show.  Hope isn't that good but she's not too bad either.  I think her athletic build doesn't help.   The other athletes that have been on DWTS have looked a little better for the ballroom.

I have a chicken in the oven already.  Why so early?  I'm going to make a Chicken Pot Pie and it has to be cooked first.  My sister Jodi did this a couple weeks ago and it was great.  I can hardly wait for it to be done.

Sister Rhonda had a trip to the ER last night.  She's has chest pains a couple times after eating so they went and had it checked out.  I thought maybe gall bladder because that's how mine reacted, but no, they found nothing wrong.  Heart and gall bladder are fine.  Just one of those things I guess.

The weatherman we watch in the morning is off on a trip to Mexico.  He is getting married.  The frightening thing is, it's right where that hurricane is headed.  I sure hope it fizzles out before then.

Have a good day.

Just Tuesday

Had a little run to the store this morning just to pick up a few things.  Why is it when you get there you wonder if you needed anything else?  Resisted the urge to grab.  Better do what I should have done in the first place.

Anyway, on the way this car keeps crawling up our right side and the suddenly pulls across 2 lanes to turn left in front of us.  As we already had the blinker on indicating we were going that way, the jerk could have just got behind (no other cars turning there) and not made such a dangerous move.  He didn't get any farther either as there was a car in front of us and he keep the speed limit too.  Serves him right.

Watch DWTS last night.  Just love watching J.R.  He just moves so smoothly, gliding along as if it all is natural thing for him.  I hope he wins.  He sure has what it takes.  Ricki is doing real well too.  She has the best partner I feel.  Boy the testiness between Max and Len was a shocker.  I couldn't believe when Len said he had been in the business for 50 years and Max said maybe it was time he got out.  Good thing Tom has the ability to keep control.  I think that could have gone on for quite awhile.

You all have a good day.

Manic Monday

At least that's what some call it.  I prefer Mellow Monday.  I guess because I don't have to go to a job anymore and can plan for whatever I want.  Whether that's many things to do or nothing at all.

Do you believe in superstition?  Good luck things. I never have but I know some do.  They carry special trinkets, do certain routines etc.  Well I'm beginning to wonder.  I wore the same shirt for all the games the Badger played and went undefeated, and this Sat. wore a different one and they lost.  I watched the games the Brewers won and couldn't stay awake for the wons they lost.  Now I have worn the same t-shirt and my Packers necklace for all the games so far and they're still winning.  I have a brand new shirt and am afraid to wear on game day, lol.  Isn't that silly.  Guess I'll just have to stick with it until the fateful day it fails.  Not sure about these type of things, but not taking any chances.

A strange thing here.  According to the task bar on the computer I am not connected to the internet.  There is a little red x on the spot.  Now I have been on and around my sites, my home page, msn, fb etc.  This has been like this for 2 days.  Oh well, as long as it works.

Guess it's to be a nice day here.  May have to go out and enjoy it.  These days will be few and far between for a few months.  Sure not looking forward to all the ice and snow.  A short winter would make a hapy camper here.

Time to go a see what I have here for breakfast.  You all have a good day.

Here it is.

My new toy.
I will say.  Windows 7 takes some getting used tol

Doesn't he look cute?  LOL   No costume, but he has the hat.
Danielle bought that at school.  Just had to have it for her Daddy.

Just finished the latest Richard Castle book, Heat Rising.  Was pretty good.  Now it's making the rounds of other readers.  Darla took it to work for one of the girls to read then she's going to read it.

Put away the summer clothes today.  Held off as long as I could.  It seems like summer just flew buy and Indian summer took a quick hike too.  39 here at the moment.  Brr.  And I still have one rose bush with flowers on it.  Darn thing actually still has some buds.  I doubt they'll open now.  The way time is flying I had better sit down and make my Christmas list.  I know I mostly get gift cards as that's usually what they all ask for, but I would like to check out catalogs and stores and see what else is out there.  Would like to be done before Dec.1.

The weekend is here.  No big plans.  I'm sure the tv will be blasting football and racing.   Pray there are no accidents like last week.  How sad that was.

You all have a good weekend.

GO BADGERS!  GO PACKERS!

Just yaking.

Good Morning!  Here I sit with my Cheerios and coffee, ready to start the day.  I hope your is going to be a good day.

Yester day I talked about Halloween costumes and Paul asked what's a sock monkey.  Here it is Paul
There is a car company advertisement that has someone in a suit like that driving their vehicle and hubby thinks it's a cool costume.

Today's agenda is learning more about the new laptop and kindle.  Have already download 3 books and a game.  It's a crossword game.  I like word games.  Danielle sent me an email with tons of books that can be downloaded.  Between her, Amazon and Ereader I'll be spending most of the time picking some out, lol.

Going to get me a mini-vacation at the begining of the Nov.  Hubby and a friend are going bow-hunting and doing some work on the friends property up in the area they hunt in.  So there will be no one following me around, picking and teasing me,  looking over my shoulder etc.  Man, I'm going to miss him.

Well not much else going on here.  Again, you all have a good day.

Quiet here.

It's so quiet here.  Hubby has gone off to practice with his bow for hunting season so tv is off.  It is a great invention, but sometimes it seems like it's just noise.  I think all the years I worked nights alone in a quiet school building have made me a little less tolerant of sound.  As you know from past posts I don't watch a love of tv.  One daytime soap and a couple shows on Mon. & Tues.  As to Monday, I sure hope one of the right people go home tonight.  It's painful to watch Chaz, Carson and Nancy.

Haven't done much playing on this new machine to see what all it can do yet.  Do you ever get afraid to try something for fear you'll mess up the whole machine?  Sometimes I do.  Taking my time.  Did download a couple of books and a game onto my Kindle. Some of the free ones.  Now to read them.

Banged my hand on the door the other day and now have a big bruise.  Hate when that happens.  Ordered a wig from a company for costumes.  Have one here I want to do but needed a wig to make it more realistic.  Turned my sister Jodi onto the site and she ordered a costume.  It's called PartyBell.com and boy are they quick.  It only took about 3 days to get here.  Have a costume in mind for Jack and haven't decided if he will be a sock monkey or a scotsman.

I guess that's enough blabbering for now.

You all have a good day.

Hi!

Here I am on my new laptop.  Boy do things look different on this compared to my desktop. I think part of it is the large screen, but also the home screen version of aol on Windows 7 king of threw me for a loop.  Still so much to figure out and but so far I just love it.

Sorry to say I have another funeral to attend to.  A 4 mo. old baby who was the granddaughter/great-granddaugther of one of Jack's sisters and niece. It's was a 'sids' death.  I just can't imagine such a thing.

Needless to say this is a very short post.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Take care and God Bless you all.

Got it!

My new laptop is safely in my own possesion, though not without a little more waiting.  You just wouldn't believe it.  I called the minute I knew the doors were open yesterday and it still wasn't done, but supposedly in the process of having just a little more to finish.  Should be with a couple hours and they would call as soon as done.  Well I told them they had to leave a message because I had a funeral (will explain who later in this post) to go to.  Of course I had my phone off there.  As soon as I got out I turned it on and sure enough there was the message I could pick it up.  Believe it or not, when we got there it was still uploading the last part.  After a 45 min. wait I was finally on my way.  Am I on it now?  No.  The grandkids are here for the weekend and I want no distractions when I set up things.

Now about the funeral.  This is a fellow from the Moose, but to me he was still my high school bus driver.  The 'mean' ;-) man who kicked us off the bus.  Yes, there is a story here.  There were 4 of us girls who would stay on the bus after all the others and he would take us to a little drive-in here and buy us all a root beer, then we would ride along and go to the grade school, pick up those kids and we would get off with them.  Now one day were were singing on the bus after the root beer. It was nice and warm outside and we had the bus windows open.  Of course at school they did too.  He had to go inside the school and we continued with our song, "Ninety nine bottles of beer on the wall".  We saw him coming back (none to happy) and one of the girls closed the door and sat on the handle so he could not get in.  We had to find an alternative way to school for 3 days.  Sheesh, some people just cannot take a joke.  LOL

Well the dinner at the Texas Roadhouse was just fantastic.  Sorry no pictures, Jodi didn't ride the bull.  Our sister Rhonda who couldn't go asked Jodi to bring her the leftovers.  We explained she doesn't leave leftovers but she wasn't buying that.  So obliging sisters that we are, Sherry, Jodi and I filled a to-go container with the left over buns, butter, deep fried pickles and a few hands full of peanuts. Laughing all the time we're doing it.  When we pulled into Sherry's driveway to let them out, Jodi called Rhonda and told here to meet us at the end of her driveway for her container.  There she was, waiting so nicely.  We handed it to her, and went home and locked the doors, lol.   A few minutes later we saw that we were 'Biotches' on fb.  We are bad girls, tee hee.  Now who else but a sister could you tease this way?

Well now that I've given you a little laugh I'll be off to see what trouble I can find today.

Have a good day.

Really ticked!

I was supposed to get my new laptop today.  The 72 hours are more than up.  When I called to see if it was done, "no they've been very busy with so many to do".  I told the fellow they said 72 hours and he was all sorry la,la.  I told him it had better be done tomorrow or I will be in for my money back.  He said he would move it to the top of the list.

On a happier note I have a very happy daughter.  She is now Kindled.  Was yahooing all over the place last night.  Though, I went from being the good Mom to bad Mom in seconds.  Since they were on sale I ordered 2.  One for me also.  OOPS!  That's what they all were going to get me for Christmas.  In the doghouse I am.  I think I'm fairly safe with the laptop but was ordered to buy nothing more.  Sheesh, take all the fun out of shopping.

Going to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner tonight.  Tomorrow is Jodi's birthday so we're all going.  At least I think we are.  So far it's Jodi, Jack, Me, Sherry, and Bill.  I see Jodi asked Rhond and Stever but didn't see where they answered.  Could have missed it.  Jodi has a free appetizer birthday coupon and wants to try the deep fried pickles.  After which I reminded her when she turns it in she may have to ride the 'bull'.  Hee Hee.  Yes, we all are bringing a camera.

Well got stuff to do.  Have a good day.  Hope the sun is shining where you are because it's not here.

What the heck!

What is happening in DWTS?  The fans have lost it.  The last 3 votings are crazy.  Why would you keep Chaz, Carson Kressley and Nancy Grace and eliminate Chynna and Tony?  It just isn't right.  It is definitely time for a change in the way of voting.  The judges need a 60 or 70 percent of the vote.  After all it's suppose to be a dance contest not a chance to show gay pride (don't get me wrong, I believe to each his own) or any push for other personal choices.  It's a dance contest and those 3 don't do it very well and their improvement is not as it should be.  Okay, enough of that.

Well finished that last book in that series. On to the next series.  The lid is still missing.  :-(.  Hopefully it will turn up soon or I have to go buy another crockpot.

Sending prayers for dear Beth in her tests and dear Carole for her sister Rae and Miss Catt.  They are very special people and hope all goes well with them.
