Well Darn.

Hopefully this will work.  The picture showed up when I viewed it.  Hopefully it shows up now.  Just sending the picture itself.

Hopefully the language doesn't offend too much, but it is funny. If nothing else you can start the day with a laugh.

I am having trouble getting into the spirit of Christmas.  At least in the shopping area.  I think if we would just get the tree up and decorations it would help, but I live with scrooge.  He won't get the stuff from the garage (all too big and heavy for me) until Dec. 10.  I just wish I had the room in the house to store it all, then I could drag it out.

Cold here and I think it's now going to stay that way.  Guess there is suppose to be snow Sat.  I'm not looking forward to that.

Have a good day.

Not sure if this is really true, but funny.

Sorry about the language at the end.  No way for fix it or it would spoil the whole thing. A friend sent it to me and even though she was told it was true we wonder.

Carnation Milk

A little old lady from Wisconsin had worked in and around her family dairy farms since she was old enough to walk, with hours of hard work and little compensation.

When canned Carnation Milk became available in grocery stores in the 1940s, she read an advertisement offering $5,000 for the best slogan.

The producers wanted a rhyme beginning With 'Carnation Milk is best of all. '

She thought to herself, I know everything there is to know about milk and dairy farms.

I can do this!

She sent in her entry, and several weeks later, a black car pulled up in front of her house.

A large man got out, knocked on her door and said, "Ma'am,.....The president of Carnation milk absolutely LOVED your entry.....So much, in fact, that we are here to award you $1,000 even though we will not be able to use it for our advertisements!"

He did, however, have one printed up to hang on his office wall.

True story!!!

Sunday, Sunday.

I haven't quite figured out what to do with today.  No football games.  Packers and Badgers have already played and WON.  I guess I could watch the Bears and hope they lose, lol.  Hey, I'm a Packer fan and rooting for them is real difficult.

Poor Nicole has to take the bus to school now.  Danielle's car is on the fritz so Mike either has to take or she has to use the truck.  She usually takes her to school as it's on her way but she has to leave earlier now.  Poor baby.  She has to get up and out about 15 minutes earlier.

Have finally done some Christmas shopping.  Have the great-grandkids done, and Nicole, Danielle, Mike, Austin and Sandy.  Jack gave Aaron a rifle for hunting so I guess that is his Christmas present.  Now for the rest of them.  Giving money to Jake and his wife.  They need new tires so what little we can give will sure help them.  So that leaves Steph, Jack, Jacky (I know I still call him that), Jared, Carson Alyssa and Allie.  Should be a snap right.  LOL  I think the tree will go up Saturday.  Jack is still trying to talk me into a table top tree, but I like my big tree and not quite ready to give in yet.

Well off to find out what to do with today.

You all have a good one.

The Quiet.....

...is over.  The hunters are back and without any success.  Jack saw a few but had no shot and I guess no one else saw anything.  It's so nice to have them home all safe and sound.  The minor downside---the tv had been off from 9:30 last Fri. till about 9:30 Wed. morning during the day.  No longer.  I don't think it's been off at all since, with the exception of sleep and not being home, lol.  Funny how one can fill the time without it and others, not so much.

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Darla, Jim and Jared yesterday.  Watch the Packers win and a marvelous dinner.  So much so, that we naturally overdid it.  Couldn't even manage a piece of pie after.  Split it in half and brought it home.  Was really late before I could even think about it.

Anyone do the Black Friday shopping thing?  I just don't see the real need.  Guess I'm just not the standing forever, waiting in line, pushing each other type.  There is nothing out there in the stores that is worth all that hassle to me.  I think also that if you use a credit card for purchases it diminishes the size of the savings you get if you end up paying interest for any length of time.  As few people can pay the whole balance each month you lose some of the advantage.

Have a good day.

I am exhausted.

Darla picked me up and we went shopping at 9:30 this morning.  I have only been home for about a half hour. We went from store to store and found a few things for Christmas then for a late lunch.  I haven't been on my feet that long since I retired.  Poor things are just smokin'.  It wasn't raining when we left but by the time we headed for home it was.  Not a hard one though, just a nice little one.

You remember I've been going through closets looking for a scrapbook.  Well I went through some old purses, and lo and behold, found a book or two.  As I hardly ever go anywhere without one I was surprised to find the unread material still there.  Always have on in the glove compartment and usually one in my purse (when I carry one).  Now brings me to last night.  We went to the funeral and after they had a luncheon for the family and friends at the Moose.  When we left I drove Sherry home and realized I didn't have my purse.  A quick call assured me it was still there and I had to go retrieve it.  Well, they all laughed of course, and asked how a woman could forget such a thing.  I informed them that as I hardly ever carry it there I wasn't used to grabbing it when I leave.  I'm certainly glad that that was where I left it.  Could hav been disasterous elsewhere.

I think maybe I will take a late nap.  You all have a good evening.

May you all have a wonderful Thankgiving!

Manic Monday

Been out and about already.  Ran to the grocery store and picked up all the things I need to make pies for Thanksgiving.  7 a.m. is the perfect time to go.  Hardly a soul there.  Bedding to wash and a little load  I didn't do the other day, and probably numerous things I forgot about.   Then the funeral this afternoon.

Now does she look like a dedicated deer hunter?
I will be interested to see if she will want to do it again.

We came out of the visitation last night and across the street were some deer in an empty lot,  just lolling around knowing they are perfectly safe in the middle of town.  Then Darla almost hit one on her way home as it darted right across the highway in front of her.  I think the guys are hunting in the wrong place, hee hee. I don't even know if they seen any.  They never call so always have to wait and see if they come home with one.  Though, I'm sure if Carson got one Jared would put it up, but she would have to pick up the gun first, lol.

Well I guess I had better get with and onto the rest of the laundry.  You all have a great day.
