I know, I know!

I said I was going to try and post regularly.  Well Jack finally got to where he was ready for us to start tackling the painting that needs to be done around here.  I think posting may be spotty until we are all finished as we are doing 3 rooms right now.  We plan to do the whole house, as it has been forever since it was done.  We also ordered the new floor for the dining room so that will be taken up some time when the order comes in.  Then the new floor for the entryway and new carpet for the living room, and the bathroom remodel as I've mentioned before.  That should just about take us through this summer.

On a sad note, a young girl at my granddaughters school did the unthinkable and took her own life.  Of course rumors abound but why still seems unknown.  She was close to Nicole and she is pretty down.  The young lady gave her a hug the day before and told Nicole she loved her and not to every forget it.  Of course she wondered if she should have caught on with that.  We assured her she could not have know.   We have all been sure to be there for her. We have always  let her know there is nothing she can't talk about to any of us and how much we love her.  I so feel for the family.  That's the second young person  in a year.  How do we make these children see there are other ways of dealing with problems than this permanent solution.

Sorry to have made your day a downer.   Be sure you tell your loved ones daily how much you love them.  I am here to tell you how much I love and appreciate all of you.  Hugs and Love.

  2. Oh dear - it's so sad about that young girl that took her own life. We've had a couple up here to. There will probably never be an answer as to why as the young girl is the only one who knows Why. It's so sad. Wow - you have a lot of work cut out for you. It will be very nice once it's all done tho and think how good you will feel inside when it's all over. Have fun and just post whenever you can,

  3. What a sad , sad thing for any young person to feel that things are so bad they have to end their lives, the older you get, the more you realize how precious life is, and no matter how bleak things may appear, it will pass, and good things happen again, such a waste.
It will be worth all the work in the end Terry, it's lovely when you have the place all newly painted and some new stuff bought and in place. You'll post when you get time, look forward to it. Have fun XX

  4. Not all days are easy and breezy that's for sure. I remember very clearly knowing a young man who killed himself when I was in high school. I knew him personally and it shocked me to the core. These things do happen sometimes no matter how hard we try to let someone know we care. Thankfully grace is still sufficient for the day. God bless and keep you my friend.

  5. My second cousin, Sandra, was drum majorette in the band. She tap danced and was as beautiful as Miss America (as were all my mom's female relatives). I admired her so much. She was six years older than I and handed clothes down to me when I became a teenager. I was thrilled to get her clothes because I thought they might make me look like her. She married, moved to California and had two beautiful little girls. I lost touch with her then because computers were not a common thing at that time. She killed herself when she was 40. She left those two little girls without a mother. She left her husband without his other half, and she left all her family grieving, wondering if we had just made a phone call, a visit, if we could have known something was wrong and could have helped. Suicide is horrible, for everyone who was close to the person. I know she had friends who felt the same way we did.

Maybe your granddaughter will chose to be in a field where she can reach out and help those who are suffering or in trouble. No one knows why these things happen....we can only hope there might be some good that will come from it.

  6. Oh Terry, how incredibly sad. And poor Nicole, left with those worries and concerns. You handled it so well and all of you are there to help her through this. It is so devestating when a young person does this. Everyone wants so badly to have known and been able to council the child. I'm so sorry.
