Happy Birthday Jared!

Yes, this kid is now 40 years old.
Happy Birthday Jared
This picture was taken when he was in the third grade.  The school had a "Pioneer Days" study week where the kids had to dress according to the era they chose for that week as they learned about that time.   Sometimes it went all the way back to the pilgrims and progressed accordingly.  You can tell by the clothes which it is, I'm sure.  The hat he has on is the one I blogged about once, and yes, it is still being worn by Jack.

Waiting for the big storm here.  Not looking forward to it but what can you do. All stocked up here and ready.  I hope and pray that it doesn't cause any serious problems for people needing life saving help.  Flight cancellations etc. are nothing when it comes right down to it.  Inconvenient yes.  It's the lifeline flights that are the serious ones and the possiblity of power outages.  School closings are another inconvenience for working parents but I would think they have a plan to deal with such things.  I do suppose the areas where snow is a rarity have difficulty though.  A friend Kathy who lives down south is happy as pig in mud that it's coming.  I worry about that girl, lol.

Enough prattle.  Off to do something constructive.  Take care, be safe and stay warm.
HUGS

  1. Happy birthday to Jared! Wow, history in pictures like that speaks volumes! I wonder if this storm will turn out to be what they've said. We are left with it being ten below zero right now but it looks like that begins to break as of tomorrow then actual forties again...leave it to February. Easy to love this kind of weather if you don't see it much...we get it every year so it's just something to endure for us here.

  5. Hey, just stopping by to give you a ‘shout out’ and say hello. Tomorrow is Wednesday, we’re half way thru the week. The weekend couldn’t come soon enough! Weekends don’t pay as well as weekdays but at least they are more fun!

  6. Crappy cold and snow missed us by veering about 50 miles to our North. Just got a lot of light rain all day. Temp right now here in Central Kentucky is 52 degrees at 10:30 P.M

  7. Well, here's wishing Jared the very best for his birthday and many more to come.
No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. Just too bad it seems to be taking it's sweet time. Uuugh! I do hope that the weather doesn't play too much havoc on you. Stay warm.

  8. I hope Jared had a fabulous birthday, Terry! He's a handsome lad!

So far, we in central Iowa are faring fairly well, unlike our neighbors in other states and in beautiful Canada.

As I write this, the wind has subsided and we're waiting for a second round of snow to arrive in the next day or so.

I hope you and yours are keeping warm enough (sounds like you're ready for anything winter can throw at you), and that if you must ravel, you'll travel in safety and without incident!

    Warm hugs from Iowa!!!
