Rain, Rain, come today.

You know how they say "you washed your car and then it rained".  Well it doesn't work.  We did that Tuesday and nothing.  Now we're trying a new tactic.  Leaving the cushions on the lawn swing.  Whenever they've even hinted at rain we've put them inside.  Of course nothing happened.  Well we are leaving them out and will just have to suffer for every how long it takes them to dry if it works.  We're deperate.  We'll try whatever.

Every have one of those days where you just don't feel like doing a darn thing.  Well I did yesterday, and that is just what I did.  Felt pretty good.  Wouldn't want to do it all the time.  Just think how boring it would be on a daily basis.  Not to mention the condition of the house.  But, every once in awhile a person just has to chill.

Have to start going through photos again.  The family reunion  is just 3 weeks away and I want to bag up whatever I have for the individual families that will be there.  We have had different estimates about how many will be there.  Some think 100, other 200 or more.  Sure will be interesting to see.  We have a photographer coming to get a group picture like the one we had years ago. Like this one.

Sure hope they have a good camera for panoramic shots.
Everyone will have their own cameras too and where hoping to get shots of each individual family group.  Looks like it just take all day to get the pictures, lol.

We have a jumping house rented for the kids and Sherry is getting some games set up.  Think we'll have time to play them?

Have a good day.

  1. I haven't been to a family reunion since the one on my mom's side in Michigan at least 25 years ago. Have a lot of fun.

  2. That will be some re-union Terry, I'd love to be part of it, we haven't got that much family left.
I sometimes like to have a lazy day just even to sit and catch up on a book, as I usually only read at bedtime now, it takes forever to finish one as I usually fall asleep after three pages, BUT, as you rightly say, you couldn't do it too often.
I hope you get some rain soon, come along to UK and fill ups as much as you like, we got loads to spare.

  3. I have NEVER been to a family reunion Closest ever is when someone passes away. Then we swear we won't let another passing be what brings us together but it always is.

  4. I haven't been to a family reunion since my dad passed away 40+ years ago. I think it's great you can get that many to attend.

  5. My brother just called me a couple of days ago an asked if I could organize a family reunion.Sounds like a pretty big project. Surprisingly, the kids have been asking for more family functions, since my Mom and Dad passed we've kinda drifted different directions.

  6. Honestly our family isn't very big and I haven't been to anything close to a family reunion in years. I hope yours goes well. I'm sitting here enjoying the temps now only at 88..a welcome relief from what it's been! Have a wonderful weekend!

  7. We got some much needed rain last night....will try to wish it your direction, whatever that direction is.

I used to love family reunions, but after my grandparents died, all the brothers and cousins moved apart and we don't even hear from them anymore....well, a couple keep in touch on the computer. It's sad that most families don't live close to one another so there is a strong family tie. Good for you and your family that so many want to see each other. Says a lot about the kind of people you are!!!

  8. Oh my, it`s been very hot, humid and extremely dry here. We have been told so many times that we can expect rain but did it ever come? Well... not when the weatherman said. The other day when he said that we were going to have another beautiful hot and sunny day... it rained! We had light showers from morning till late evening! Loved it! The rain came and cooled everything and EVERY ONE down. It was so welcomed! Here`s hoping you get your rain and soon.
A family reunion eh? Something truly to look forward to and we will be looking forward to seeing the photos that we know you will not forget to take.
