Not Shocked

Can you be surprised and not shocked at the same time?  I along with most feel she did it, but wasn't shocked by the verdict.  Was discussing this with my sister Jodi Sunday and told her of an article I read by some legal beagle who said neither side proved anything. There were too many questions left unanswered.  It was all circumstantial.  I know many have been convicted on circumstantial evidence (some wrongly and some rightly) but our justice systems is not suppose to work that way.  Unfortunately in some cases the guilty are freed.  We may never know what really happened.  This family seems so dysfunctional to me and that  poor little angel suffered the consequences of it.  Was any of what Casey said the truth?  I doubt it, but who knows.  Did lying come natural to the family?  Is that where she learned it?  Even a pathelogical liar  may say something true once in awhile.  Was Casey raised to be self-centered?  To feel entitled to do as she pleased?  We all know there are families like that, where the children can do no wrong, and they grow up expecting everything to go their way.  The lies, miscues by authorities (the guy who tried 3 times to get them to look where he found her) etc. all contributed this verdict.  It makes you lose confidence in the ability of the legal system.

  1. Yes, it wasn't all that surprising but I still feel just sick over it. What kind of mother could not just lie but party hardy the whole time she knew her daughter was dead? It seems a terrible travesty of justice. Seeing the way she carried on after the verdict was read was sick and wrong too...it seems so often true the victim pays while those responsible get away often literally with murder.

  3. It was a big surprise to me.I wonder if anyone will EVER know what really happened to her? At least Caylee is in a wonderful place now.

  4. I only followed this from a distance on the evening news. Judging from all the outrage many thought she was guilty as guilty could be. On top of it since she has already served about 3 years she might be relesed very soon. If she is guilty the the guilt will eventually catch up with her.
I smell a made for TV movie.

  5. She's getting out in 6 days. I know one thing, I will NOT watch a movie or read a book where she might get the money from it.

Apparently, lying and waiting 30 days to report your own child missing (and Cindy was the one that called not Casey) is now acceptable in America. I have zero respect for this jury.
