I know, it's scary. The things that pop into a persons mind can be odd, thought provoking, funny, mean, or just plan out of this world. They come up at some strange times and the good ones usually when you have no place to jot them down to share. Mine usually hit me in the night while trying to get back to sleep after wake up call and sometimes in your sleep for some strange reason. I have all kinds of ideas on how to do something. You know, something you saw or heard on tv etc. gets your mind working overtime and you have your view on it. It makes perfect sense to you what you want to say about it and you can even see it all put down on paper. But, getting up to go down a put them down is not in my lazy demeaner, so they are all gone by morning. Tried putting a pad and pencil by the bed, but it's hard to write in the dark and hubby wouldn't appreciate the light coming on.
I know one time I was making a dress for Darla and it had on that "Nehru" (sp) type collar. For the life of me I could not understand the pattern instructions. Of course it came to me in my sleep. That time I did get up and do it. It came out perfectly, but it left me very tired that day, and with three kids to take care of. The ones that usually hit me now, at least, aren't earth shattering and won't be missed because I couldn't remember them. It's just that it can be frustrating to think of something you may like to share and it's gone in the wind.
i know all too well what you are saying and it can be frustrating to say the least...many of times i thought, what i great idea, i will remember to do that,,,,,,,,,,,nope , i forget and it never happens lol, oh well
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem. I would think of good ideas for a blog while I was on my morning walk and forget them by the time I got home.
ReplyDeleteI started carrying a small pad and a pen with me when I walk to write down my thoughts. It seems to be working :-)

I've actually really disciplined myself when it comes to sleeping at night. I have contacts so getting little sleep is something I really pay for the next day. Generally speaking my nights are disturbed unless it's really something spectacular but even if I did get something like that it would be okay...my wife is quite the night owl!
ReplyDeleteThat's a disordeer called CRS and usually happens to people over 65 :)
ReplyDeleteOh man, I had ah great comment but it's gone.
ReplyDeleteI know how it is solving problems in yer dreams.
Have ah great day!
Being a person of high morals, clean living, no vices, lots of fibre in my diet, an being non-judgemental to all folks.....I am not bothered by lack of sleep trying to solve problems. I have a wife that makes all my decisions!
ReplyDeleteBTW....I'll probably go to hell for lieing about the first part.....but, DEFINATELY for the second part if "THE WIFE" reads it!
Yes, this has happened to me. Back in the days when I was knitting a complicated pattern the solution came to me in my semi-consciousness. Fortunately I remembered how to do it the next day.
ReplyDeleteI too have worked out some things in a near sleep..either going to sleep or just coming to consciousness. Lately, I just try to stay asleep if I am allowed to. You know who I mean.
ReplyDeleteMany a morning while laying there not quite sure if I should drag my sorry a&& out of bed, I start thinking of pincushion ideas. It's my most creative hour of the day and enough to make me get up. Glad it happens then and not when I'm trying to fall asleep.
